Since first visiting ebay I have become completely addicted. If you are the sort of person who cannot avoid the big shiny Sale signs in shops and would buy things that you do not need just because they are reduced. Or even worse one of those people (like me) who then goes on to justify the ludicrous amount of money that I have just spent by repeatedly telling people how much the stuff would have cost and therefore how much I have saved, then please avoid this site.

You can buy almost anything here from electrical equipment to cd’s videos and even clothes, though my experience is mainly limited to CD’s, and many items are much cheaper than you could get them anywhere else.

Ebay is the worlds largest online auction site. Enabling buyers and sellers to interact in real-time, in the selling and buying of goods. Originally set up as an auction site for collectibles. Ebay called themselves, an online marketplace. It is a powerful online platform for sale of goods.

This rapidly expanded to include the possibility to sell just about anything. And in the year 2000 a man actually put his soul up for sale. The bidding reached 400 dollars before Ebay stopped this ridiculous auction. And in 1999 a human kidney was put up for auction. The bidding soared to 5 million dollars before Ebay pulled the plug. And in 2000 a rare baseball card sold for1.2 million dollars, this was the highest amount made on an Ebay auction at this point in time. So the possibilities are there for making money. It’s up to you to have a go. It’s great fun. And like all these sites, pretty addictive.

I have only recently joined e-bay auctions (about a month ago), but already am pleased with the service and both the items I have purchased and the sellers I have purchased them from.

Navigating the site and bidding are both really easy to get the hang of, and there are handy helpful hints all over the site, as well as a ‘help’ section to help you with any queries. Items up for auction are organised into categories, making it easy to find the type of thing that you are looking for. Another handy point about e-bay is the e-mail service, which lets you know if an item you are watching is ending soon, or if you have been outbid or have won an auction. So far I have won about 8 auctions. Payment methods are determined by the seller, so vary, but I have paid all of my sellers by postal order so far, which seems to be a widely accepted method of payment, as do personal cheques. Some sellers take credit cards, but not all.

I have found some really unusual gifts as well as some bargai
n everyday items on e-bay, and would recommend that you have a look for yourself…you don’t have to sign up to browse, so check it out!

EBAY! well I started going on ebay when a friend recommended it as a great auction site to me. I went on there and never realised just how many different things you could bid for, they do everything.
The buzz I got was amazing when I placed my first bid and then recieved an email to confirm that I had successfully placed the highest bid and that the item in question was mine.
Well after that I went on ebay every day, scanning through the endless lists of things to sell. I started placing bids on many items, even to the point that when I won the bids I couldnt remember the items in question, thats how bad I got!.
I ended up spending far more than really I could afford but it was just so easy and exciting, its so hard not to get carried away in the thrill of it all. I spent on average around 6 hours a day every day on ebay. Put it this way my husband was not amused.

I recently got introduced to Ebay by my husband as he was hunting for Computer parts to upgrade our PC.

Basically ebay is an online auction sight that brings buyers and sellers together.

Now you may be like me and be somewhat sceptical about this method of buying goods, afterall you have to go on a desciption of the goods and if you are lucky a picture.

As I was flicking through the site I realised that this was a way for me to get back into coin collecting.

Ebay allows members to comment on the service that you get from any buyer or seller and I believe this is a good way to check who you are buying from.

The site itself is very comprehensive. There are a wide range of categories. Ebay would advocate that you should bid the highest amount that you are willing to pay, although I have sometimes felt that if a bidder is beaten in the last minute (or the last 10 seconds!!) the previous high bidder should be allowed to up the bid if they wish - afterall the internet can be a slow beast at times.

From my experience so far most people are reputable and have a fast and effiecient service.
